Acne vs Me: Temple Spa - fantastic find

Temple Spa Products - the one that is working for me now!

A product I am excited to tell you about.

I made the mistake over the years of looking for products for oily and spot prone skin, assuming I would fit into this category due to having acne. How wrong was I. For the first time I had to think outside the box! I'll tell you why...

A friend of mine has set up her own business as a Temple Spa Consultant. She had been asking me to have a look at her products to help with my skin condition over the last few months, but my instant reaction was 'why would your products work for me if the rest on the market fail me'. In the end I gave in and she gave me some samples to try.

Temple Spa - Sensitive Skin Therapy - product called 'Be Gone' - RESULT ..... AMAZING!

After using the cleanser 'BE GONE' for the first time my face felt so soft like I had just moisturised it. I was amazed. Honestly. I have been using this item now for about 3 weeks and my skin has really settled. My skin continues to feel amazing and this is a product I will be sticking with. After all these years I have been targetting the products for 'spot prone skin'  hoping they would work and they didn't, now I know why. My skin is simply SENSITIVE....

Have a look at my pictures and see for yourself:

Before using Temple Spa products:

Three weeks after using Temple Spa product - BE GONE cleanser

It takes 28 days for our skin cycle to start working and I can tell a massive difference only after three weeks. I am honestly amazed. At the moment I have only been using the cleanser which retails at £18 for 150ml, to see how I get on. If the result is this good after only using the cleanser, I have great faith in the full range, this being the toner and moisturiser too.

My routine: At night - When pumped into the hand it is a creamy texture. I gently massage it over my face and neck, using the tap and roll motion to blend it into my makeup. I add a tiny bit of water to my hand to allow it to spread further. I leave it on for a couple of minutes and wash away, wiping my face with a warm cloth afterwards. You can see by looking at the cloth that it doesn't leave any makeup behind. I then rinse the cloth in cold water and lay over my face quickly to close the pores.
In the morning: I follow the same routine but with half of the amount of cleanser.

Honestly this is an amazing product and I will continue with it. I informed a friend of mine who is also a 'spot sufferer' in her late 20's and she told me that she started using the products (the full range being cleanser, toner and moisturiser) and she has now run out and is wanting more. If it is working for me and working for her then I have high hopes for this product to be my 'amazing find'.

If feels that nice on the skin I don't even moisturise anymore before I go to bed.

Since using the cleanser I have invested in a product also from Temple Spa called 'Be Strong' which helps reduce scaring.

Further information about the products I currently use are as follows, the description is taken from the Temple Spa Product brochure.

I get my products from www.templespa.com/sarahfryer who is my local consultant, however you can order online from her too. If you do decide to purchase products please inform her that you have received information about her products from my blog...just say' Jane's Blog'. This way I will know how many people my blog is helping. You can also email her on sarah.fryer@gmail.com. She only delivers to the UK unfortunately. If you live outside the UK you may be able to find a consultant near you.

Good luck. It would be interesting to see how you get on with this product too. Feel free to post after you try them for yourself. Remember we are all different and what may work for me may not work for you. However, both my friend and I have been major spot sufferers since being in our teens (now in our 20's and 30's and still suffering)...well not any more.

Temple Spa also do a range of products for oily skin and combination skin too. The cleanser isn't designed to remove eye make-up.

I will keep updating you every few weeks with photos so you can see my progress.

Acne vs Me: Green Tea

Green Tea - worked for a short time

Drinking Green Tea can help the skin. I heard that you can wash your face in green tea and use the leaves inside the t-bag to gently exfoliate your skin. If you do exfoliate be sure to use the tap and roll motion and NOT rub in cirular movements as this can be too harsh for your skin. Start from the middle of your face, working outwards tapping as you move your hand around your face. Wipe away with damp cotton wool and rinse again with green tea until skin is clear. Use cold cloth to close pores and pat dry. The idea is to remove dead skin cells NOT strip the top layer of your skin off, so be very gentle. I tried this after seeing it on Youtube.

Green tea can be quite bitter to drink, so I found 'Organic India Tulsi Green Tea with Holy Basil' from my local health shop costing about £1.99 for 25 t-bags. It is very mild in taste and very easy to drink. It doesn't matter which green tea you chose, as they all have the same effect.

If you do drink this tea then I would advise you to have one in the morning and one at night. If you drink as recommended on the internet (4-5 cups a day) it can produce ... lets just say asparagus makes your wee smell...it can have a similar affect!

If you do chose to wash with green tea then you can pick up a cheaper box from any continental store if you have one near you, or even the local supermarket. Use the expensive ones for drinking!

Green tea also has other fantastic health benefits so its worth checking it out.

RESULT: Have a look at my photos below so you can see the difference it made. Used for one week, it made a dramatic difference and reduced inflammation. This was only for a short time before my skin starting breaking out again. I think it dried my skin out and started to feel tight.

1 week after

You can see how it reduced the inflamation. I'm not sure if Green Tea became too harsh for my skin on the following weeks so I stopped using it, however I do still drink it.

I will keep you updated on my progress with other products. Keep posted!

Acne vs Me: my struggle with acne

Hi my name is Jane, I have struggled with acne since becoming a teen, I am now 35 years old and still getting breakouts.

I have only ever experienced clear skin once and this was when I was into my third month of being pregnant with my daughter (back in 2009) right up until she was 9 months old (this was 3 months after I stopped breastfeeding her). I can honestly say my skin was floorless. Since this time, I started getting breakouts again, but only on my face and neck.

If you are reading my blog, then I guess you are suffering from acne too, or know somebody who is. I know that it doesn't just have an effect on my confidence where I can limit eye to eye contact, however the pain behind the spot(s) isn't fun to put up with.

To put it in simple terms, I know the spots are there, it doesn't make me feel attractive and they hurt. I would like to get rid of them. After trying many things on prescription, over the counter etc nothing has worked.

I started seeing a homeopath in September 2011 to help correct my hormonal inbalance since having my two children. I suffered from irregular bleeding, low on energy, tiredness all the time and mood swings. As she is helping regulate me internally, which is almost back to normal, I have undertaken research to correct my skin...

What works for one person may not work for somebody else but its worth a try. I will add photos throughout my blogs so you can see if the products I have chosen to try, work OR not.
